Coach Stores: What You Will Find at Flagships and Everyday Boutiques

Tapestry’s annual report records that Coach closed its 2026 fiscal year, on 27 June 2026, with 973 stores under its direct operation. Of those stores, 336 are in North America and 637 are international. You may also see a figure of about 1,299 stores, although that total counts all of Tapestry’s brands, not Coach by itself. For the year ahead, Tapestry has reportedly said that around 50 net new Coach stores are in the pipeline for fiscal 2027, with roughly three quarters of them sited beyond North America. The network takes in flagship Coach House locations, standard full-price boutiques, concessions inside department stores and Coach Outlet stores. Searching for a coach store can therefore throw up very different formats, from a multi-floor flagship to a unit in an outlet village. This guide works city by city through the best-documented locations and highlights where a store’s current status still needs checking.

New York: The Coach House on Fifth Avenue

Established in New York in 1941, Coach runs its most recognisable flagship in the city where it began. The Coach House at 685 Fifth Avenue opened its doors in the fall of 2016 to mark the brand’s 75th anniversary. Created with William Sofield’s Studio Sofield, the space was reported at about 20,000 square feet across three floors. Coach has reportedly signed a lease for about 13,200 square feet at 645 Fifth Avenue for a new Coach House, meaning the current address is not a permanent home. Coach has pencilled in 2027 for the planned move, while David Yurman has reportedly leased the 685 Fifth Avenue space ahead of an expected opening in early 2029. Use Coach’s store locator before any special trip, since it is not confirmed whether the current store is still trading on a given day. Also listed on the locator is a Coach store at 20 Hudson Yards, close to Tapestry’s headquarters at 10 Hudson Yards.

London: Coach House on Regent Street

Unveiled in 2016 as a global concept store, London’s Coach House is found at 200–206 Regent Street. It was also designed with Studio Sofield, which gives it a family resemblance to the New York flagship. Coverage at the time described a Craftsmanship Bar for monogramming and personalised touches. A Made to Order bar for the Rogue bag was also reported, and made-to-order Rogue pieces reportedly require around 12 weeks, or about 16 weeks with exotic skins. Watch out for the wrong opening year: one retail-district listing carries a much later page date, and some writers have been misled by it. Tapestry said on its August 2026 earnings call, according to a published transcript, that the UK, plus some wholesale business, is the only part of Europe where Coach has a material presence. If you want a personalisation appointment, check which services are currently offered before visiting.

Tokyo: Ginza

Coach’s Japanese flagship sits in Tokyo’s Ginza district. The store, renewed in 2015, goes back to the first Japanese flagship, which opened there in 2002. It reopened on 19 December 2025 after a redesign by the studio CURIOSITY, according to reports on the relaunch. When it comes to services, Japan also matters: select Japanese stores reportedly participate in the Coach (Re)Loved trade-in exchange. Lightly used all-leather retail bags are reportedly accepted by the scheme, whereas outlet items and canvas pieces are not accepted. Which Japanese stores participate was not confirmed, so ask the store before bringing in a bag. As with every flagship in this guide, hours and services are best checked shortly before a visit.

Greater China: Hong Kong, Chongqing and an Old Shanghai Record

Records for Coach’s large stores in Greater China are less complete than those for New York or London. A flagship of about 7,000 square feet opened on Huai Hai Middle Road in Shanghai in April 2010, according to a record that is now out of date. There was no way to verify its current status, so the Shanghai store should not be taken to be open today. A global flagship in Hong Kong and a two-storey glass flagship in Chongqing are also said to be operated by Coach. Likewise, no opening date was confirmed for either of the two stores. International stores account for 637 of Coach’s 973 directly operated stores, but the annual report figure is not a list by city. Older press coverage is not as dependable as Coach’s local store locator, so anyone travelling should use the locator when planning a visit.

British Boutiques and Concessions

Beyond Regent Street, Coach’s UK store locator lists full-price stores at Westfield London in White City and at Westfield Stratford City. St Pancras and the Promenade Level at Canary Wharf are further London options. The Bullring in Birmingham has the documented full-price store away from the capital. Coach also has a presence through concessions inside Harrods in Knightsbridge and Selfridges on Oxford Street, where a Coach Playground space has been promoted. No confirmed store was found in Manchester, Edinburgh or other UK cities, so verify before concluding a local branch exists. For those searching coach uk locations, the list above covers the documented full-price options at the time of writing. To confirm hours and services, the safest place is the dedicated store page on Coach’s UK website.

Coach Outlet Stores

Instead of being independent discounters, Coach Outlet stores form part of Coach’s own network, and Coach’s store locator labels them as outlets. They usually are located in outlet centres, and Coach has reportedly opened Coach Coffee Shop concepts at Jersey Gardens and Woodbury Common in the United States. Confirmed Coach Outlet stores in Britain are at Bicester Village, Cheshire Oaks Designer Outlet and Ashford Designer Outlet. Check before travelling to York Designer Outlet, since a store there has only been reported, not confirmed. Outlet stock is partly made specifically for the outlet channel, and the only share figure found, around 85%, goes back to 2014, so today’s mix is unknown. Assortments also include earlier-season styles and, under the reported “One Coach” strategy, some full-price collection product. Before a coach outlet trip, check current offers first: promotions change, and coupon-site sale calendars could not be verified.

Inside a Coach Store: What to Expect

Small leather goods, clothing and shoes sit alongside the current handbag range at a full-price coach store, where handbags take centre stage. The Tabby was introduced in 2019, the Brooklyn debuted in August 2024 and the Empire Carryall arrived in February 2025, and all three are among the recognisable bag families in 2026. Spotted US prices put a Tabby 26 at $475 and an Empire Carryall 34 at $450, but these are figures seen in the market rather than an official price list. The (Re)Loved trade-in runs in North America retail stores plus select UK and Japan stores, meaning participation depends on the store. One membership extends to both formats, because Coach Insider, the free loyalty programme, is said to cover both Coach and Coach Outlet. A receipt from a Coach store provides useful proof of where a coach bag came from, particularly since Coach says it does not authenticate merchandise. Creative direction comes from Stuart Vevers, whose appointment was announced in June 2013 and who is still Creative Director in 2026.

Planning a Visit

Particularly while the New York flagship prepares to move, a little preparation saves wasted journeys. Since Coach’s store locator lists full-price stores separately from Coach Outlet locations, first check the version for the country you are visiting. If you are hoping for a trade-in, confirm that the specific store participates and that your bag is all leather rather than canvas. For personalisation or made-to-order services, ask ahead of time whether the service is available. Visitors to Britain should bear in mind that tax-free shopping for tourists in Great Britain ended on 1 January 2021, so there is no VAT refund to factor in. Keep every receipt, because it documents where a bag was bought if questions crop up later. Before travelling a long way to an outlet centre, look up current promotions, as offers are updated frequently.

  • Consult the store locator on the day you travel.
  • Make sure both participation and eligibility for a trade-in.
  • Arrange personalisation services in advance.
  • Keep receipts for every purchase.
